Our History

Growing Here for One Hundred Years

Our family has been growing agricultural products in this valley for more than 100 years.

My great grandfather Christian grew fruit and shade trees for the Oregon Nursery Company as far back as the 1890's, then for himself at the original Rich & Sons Nursery. After a successful career as a farmer Christian retired and his sons (Amos & Sam) split Rich & Son's Nursery. Sam kept the original business name until he retired. It was 1965 when my grandparents Amos and Janet would incorporate their own business, Amos Rich Nurseries. They grew mostly fruit, shade and flowering trees and shrubs but dabbled in strawberries, wheat and when it was popular, grew some awesome harry vetch.

Their son Dennis graduated from Oregon State University as a double major and has worked the family business since returning from his service in the Navy in the late 1960's. The nursery wouldn't exist today without him. He continues the nursery legacy with me, Lindsy.

I'm Dennis' daughter and the fourth generation of the Rich family to call myself a bareroot fruit tree farmer.

I'm also a wife, mother, sister, children's ministry volunteer, and struggling gardener.

My husband Scott and I took ownership of half the existing nursery land in 2021, Dennis retains ownership of the rest. We decided to bring back the original family business name for our own farm. Although we only have daughters, it somehow seemed fitting.

Please join us as we turn the calling on our hearts for the past ten years into a reality that all of Washington County can enjoy!

A Family Tradition

I grew up in the Tualatin Valley of Oregon.

We are proud to produce quality agricultural products, close to your home, for your family.

Thank you for supporting our family's tradition.

L-R: Lindsy, Elaina, Madelyn, Scott, Pepper and Dennis
